Hope in the Valley Equine Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc.
is a non-profit, tax exempt 501(c)3 corporation. It was founded by Ande Armstrong in an effort to rescue and rehabilitate horses in Sedgwick County, KS and surrounding communities. The rescue has been developed to provide care for horses that have been abused, neglected, abandoned, unwanted or are slaughter bound. Our hope is that they someday will be able to go to permanent, loving homes.
Hope in the Valley operates totally on tax-deductible contributions.
Our goal for each horse is to heal them physically and emotionally. We do have some permanent equine but really aim to adopt out as many as possible.
We are run 100% by volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please email us.

2012 ASPCA Grant Approved!
We gratefully acknowledge the ASPCA for approving a grant for the year 2012 specifically to purchase some very needed hay and senior feed! We will now be able to purchase much needed round bales of hay and senior feed thanks to the ASPCA.

We only issue this award to organizations that have made great efforts to save horses and strive to give horses a better life.
We Are A GFAS Verified Facility
Humane and responsible care of the animals has been confirmed by on an onsite visit by a trained inspector. In addition, the sanctuary meets the definition of a true sanctuary: the facility has nonprofit status, all required licenses and permits, does not engage in commercial trade (with some exceptions allowed such as the purchase of animals who might otherwise end up in slaughter), allows no or restricted contact with the public, only inpidual welfare-centric research is allowed, and no intentional breeding of animals occurs, with sound practices in place to prevent propagation.
