Hope in the Valley Equine Rescue and Sanctuary is a nonprofit, tax exempt (501c)3 corporation. It was founded by Ande Miller in an effort to rescue and rehabilitate abused and neglected horses in Sedgwick County, KS and surrounding communities. The rescue has been developed to provide care for horses that have been abused, neglected, abandoned, unwanted or are slaughter bound. Our hope is that they someday will be able to go to permanent, loving homes.
Hope in the Valley operates totally on tax deductible contributions. Our goal for each horses is to heal them physically and emotionally. We do have some permanent equine but really aim to adopt out as many as possible. We are run 100% by volunteers.
Our mission is simple - to give them a better life. Below you will see a before and after image of our first rescue horse, Jim. You can read more about him on the Jim page and by reading the articles in our press section, coming soon.
