Who We Are

All horses listed below are currently available for adoption, or soon will be.  As often as we have been getting new horses and ponies lately, it is possible that we have others that are not yet on the website.  Please feel free to call or email if you don't see what you're looking for - it's possible we may have it.

PICS FORTHCOMING ON THESE:

Holly is a three or four year old mare.  She is sorrel with white stockings on her back legs - our own little Nancy Sinatra.

Lucy is a fleabitten pony mare.  A little shy sometimes.  She will soon be going to a foster home for some one on one TLC.

Spirit is a colt - around six months old.  He's pretty fuzzy right now - had been sorrel, but is turning more of a chestnut.  Mama is a pony, not sure about daddy.

Wander is a mostly sorrel Paint with two white stockings in the back.  He was found "wandering" in SE Sedgwick County.  He has recently been gelded.  We think he may be broke, but have not tried him yet due to his recent surgery.

Duke Too is a 27 year old gelding who recently came to us due to the death of his owner.  He is broke to ride, but we are not sure what level of rider.  He is very healthy and has lots of energy.

Ellie is an eight year old QH/Appy mare.  She recently came to the rescue because her owner could no longer care for her.  They have been her only owners.  She was never broke to ride, just loved.

Jewel is a sorrel mare around 20 years old.  She is still underweight, so not quite ready for adoption.  She is not broke to ride, but would be a good pasture mate.

Phoenix is a stunning nine year old chestnut Quarterhorse mare.  She is broke to ride, but not for a beginner.  She is ok though to lead the kids around on.  We've had her at fall fests giving rides.

Thomas is a 10-year old Thoroughbred, and a former racehorse.  He does have some leg problems, and cannot be ridden.

Shortcake is our strawberry roan filly.  About six months old.  This little lady is built - and already about as tall as her pony mama.

Captain is a dark bay gelding.  He is nearing 20.  Sweet guy recently seized from his owner due to neglect.  We do believe he's broke to ride, but he is still gaining weight so we've not tried to saddle him up.

Rain is a striking mostly sorrel with white Paint.  She is a very sweet two year old.  We believe she will be very easy to train.

Dakota is a 10-11 year old pony gelding.  Due to past abuse issues he is not always easy to catch - but once you catch him, he's a sweetheart and very patient.

Buddy is a former racehorse.  If we read his lip tattoo correctly he is around 30 years old.  He would be a good companion horse.  When he has someone on his back, he just wants to run - so he needs someone to really work with him to teach him that walking is ok too.

Peter Pan is a uniquely marked Paint gelding.  Recently back from the trainer, but still needs some miles on him.

Dazzle is our little roan mare. We bought her at a horse sale.  Aside from being severely underweight, she had internal and external parasites - as well as rain rot.  She is now four years old, and just gorgeous.  She is a little head strong sometimes, and is able to hold her own with the bigger horses.  We expect that she will be in the 14 hands range once she fully matures.  Dazzle has been to the trainer, and is looking like she might make a nice trail horse.

Duke is a four year old Paint gelding.  He is a very loving, laid-back guy.  He is back from the trainer, and ready to make someone a nice mount.

Dusty is a twenty-something bay mare that had been starved and was rescued from a sale. She cannot eat hay so she requires Senior Feed to maintain a healthy weight. Bless her heart, she does love to munch on grass - just can't get it chewed up.  She is broke to ride and doesn't have any soundness problems, but due to a past leg injury she will need to be adopted as a companion horse only.  She is a very sweet mare, and loves getting treats.

Lightning is a head strong little gal - less than 14 hands - who loves being pampered.  She is broke to ride, and needs someone who can really dedicate the time to riding her.  Lightning is currently in foster care, but still available for adoption.

Nala is a beautiful light bay 9-year old mare who was given to us by her owners.  They rescued her a few years ago, nursed her back to health, and have given her lots and lots of love.  Unfortunately due to time and finances, they just couldn't keep her any longer.  She is a gaited horse, and stands 15.1 hands.  Nala would be suitable for an intermediate rider as she can be a little headstrong sometimes.

Classy is 31 years old.  She has bad arthritis, and cannot be ridden.  She is a very sweet mare, and would make a great pasture mate.

Star is a two year old.  She is playful and growing fast.  She is a very sweet girl, and is ready for someone to adopt her and get her training really going.  We expect she will mature to more than 15 hands.  Her mama, Lady, was also a rescue, but she has since crossed the rainbow bridge.

Star is definitely a looker, pictured here in June 2008.

Rosalie was adopted from us awhile back, but may be coming back due to some hardships on the family. She is a sweet mare, and a great ride.
