Who We Are

Hope in the Valley Equine Rescue and Sanctuary, Inc. is a non-profit, tax exempt (501c)3 corporation. It was founded by Ande Miller in an effort to rescue and rehabilitate horses in Sedgwick County, KS and surrounding communities. The rescue has been developed to provide care for horses that have been abused, neglected, abandoned, unwanted or are slaughter bound. Our hope is that they someday will be able to go to permanent, loving homes.

Hope in the Valley operates totally on tax deductible contributions. Our goal for each horse is to heal them physically and emotionally. We do have some permanent equine but really aim to adopt out as many as possible. We are run 100% by volunteers.

Our mission is simple - to give them a better life.

Jim was the inspiration for our rescue.  Ande saved him from certain death, and brought hope into his life that day.  You can read more about him on the "Meet Jim" page, and in our "Have You 'Herd'?" section.  If you'd like, you can make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal on the "Meet Jim" page.  Or visit our blog at http://hitveras.blogspot.com

A SPECIAL REQUEST:  With winter quickly approaching, we are in great need of square bales of brome and/or prairie hay.  If you, or someone you know, has any you would like to donate it would be greatly appreciated.  If you can help, please call Ande at (316) 519-4129.  THANK YOU!!

We want to thank you for visiting our website.  Please don't hesitate to email us with any ideas, questions, or suggestions.  Happy Trails!!
