Horses For Adoption

Dazzle

Dazzle is our little roan filly. We bought her at a horse sale because she had been starved. She was put in a large lot with many other horses and she rarely got any food. She is now two-years-old but is the size of a weanling. She had not been handled at all when we got her, but now she is halter broke and is getting comfortable with her farrier. She had internal and external parasites as well as rain rot. She is all better now and needs a home where someone will spend time doing additional work with her. She will load into a trailer easily. Because of the starvation Dazzle will probably always be small in size but she will make a great horse for any child. She still has a lot of growing to do!

Peek-A-Boo

Peek-A-Boo and Dazzle joined our family at the same time, from the same sale and under the similar conditions. He was not as small as Dazzle but was still starved and had parasites. His conditions just were not as severe as hers. He does still have a lot of growing to do, too. He is a beautiful chestnut color, a yearling stud colt. He will be gelded before we adopt him out.  He is halter broke and works well with his farrier.  He'll be a wonderful horse for any child or small adults.

Trigger

Trigger is 16 years old, a palamino appaloosa horse who is totally blind. Otherwise, he is healthy. He was given to the rescue because his previous owners could not care for him any longer. He is able to be ridden and will need to go to a home that has other horses so that he has a companion. An experienced rider could develop a very trusting relationship with Trigger because of his disability. Right now he hangs out with Dazzle and Peek-A-Boo and relies on them to show him the way.

Dusty

Dusty is a twenty-something year old bay mare that had been starved and was rescued from a sale. She cannot eat hay so she requires Senior Feed to maintain a healthy weight. At this time we don’t know her riding ability, but she doesn’t seem to have any other soundness problems. Once she is completely healthy she will be available for adoption. She is slowly gaining weight and is a very sweet mare.

Mack

Mack is also a twenty-something year old. He is a bay gelding who was used strictly for pulling a cart and has never been ridden. He was handed over to the rescue by an individual who had rescued him from being sent to slaughter. He was extremely thin when he came to our rescue. He has since gained weight by eating Senior Feed and he does still eat some hay. Once he is healthy, he can be adopted as a companion horse or possibly a cart horse. He does not appear to have any bad manners at this time.
