We Believe in HOPE
Horses from all walks of life can find a safe and welcoming place at Hope In The Valley Equine Rescue and Sanctuary. We are a local non-profit equine rescue located in Valley Center, Kansas run by volunteers and supported through donations. Hope cares for an average herd size of 55 equine and in the last 20 years has helped over 800 horses, donkeys, and mules find a better life through Hope.
Horses in Kansas can be offered hope in emergency situations. In the event their owners have passed or can no longer provide for them, and in the event of neglect or abandonment cases under investigation by law enforcement. On occasion the Hope Team will find equine in need of rescue at auction but this is rare due to the cost.
Hope exists to rescue, rehabilitate, reconnect, and rehome.
"To Give Them A Better Life"
Hope In The Valley rehabilitates horses providing the food, shelter, veterinarian care and attention necessary for a healthy future.
Only a few horses come to Hope in such extreme health conditions. Stormy (pictured) was one such horse who has been given sanctuary at Hope In The Valley.
Adoption to approved homes is possible for most rescued horses and the goal when they are in fit condition. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, Hope In The Valley is staffed by volunteers and supported entirely by donations. YOU help provide them a better life when YOU adopt, donate, volunteer, or sponsor.

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Looking to add a horse, donkey, or mule to your herd? Check out Hope for a forever buddy! Our adoption process helps match you to a great equine, whether you want a trail partner, a project horse, or a pasture companion for your other equine.

Rescuing horses is a heartfelt journey, fueled by passion and purpose. While it requires financial support, the love shared with these magnificent creatures is immeasurable. Routine care, feeding, vaccinations, worming, and farrier services average $2900 a year for each horse, donkey, and mule. At Hope, we provide care for 50-60 equine annually. You can be their hope when you donate.

At Hope in the Valley, we’re powered entirely by our wonderful volunteers! If you have a passion for helping horses—regardless of your experience level—we’d love to have you join our team! Whether it’s mucking stalls, checking on hay and water, or helping maintain the farm. We also need creative minds to help with fundraising and events, social media, and so much more! Our volunteers often share that their time at Hope brings them just as much joy as it brings to the horses!
